It all started over thirty years ago: in 1973 Harry Schnabel launched the company then known as EDV-Technik Schnabel GmbH. They were among the first engineering consultants to specialize in data center planning. It’s hardly surprising, then, that Harry Schnabel and his team were quick to establish themselves in the market. The experience they gained in this sector soon saw them branching out into new areas and the projects took on an increasingly international flavour.
The logical consequence of this success story was a steady increase in both business volume and staff numbers. In 1997, it was an equally logical step when the decision was made to transform the company into the SCHNABEL AG and to continue along its chosen route of becoming bigger and better! Berthold Birkelbach joined the board of SCHNABEL AG in 2005, taking over the chair from Harry Schnabel in May 2006 as part of an age-related succession settlement. Harry Schnabel, however, continues to make his services available to the company. As chairman of the BITKOM technical committee on “Reliable Data Centers”, he is the driving force behind the formulation of standards for the data center market, creating a unique degree of transparency for the sector and its interested clients. In order to establish our market presence abroad, SCHNABEL AG opened the first international branch in 2006 in Dubai. In September 2007, the subsidiary SCHNABEL DC Consultants India Prv. Ltd. was founded in India, Bangalore. |
